9 Weeks 3 Days

Woke up at 4 am coughing and hacking up a lung this morning. Continued to sleep and further woke up with a headache. Had to call in sick for work because of it and I'm 99% sure it's due to allergies to Bosco, but I still love him and would never give him up. It's so bad that I get armpit hives. Who gets armpit hives? I never even knew it was possible, but it is and it's horrible. I've been dealing with these allergies since first set foot in the breeder's home and I knew full well that I would be allergic, but I've been hoping that my body would get used to it after a few weeks. It's week 2 now and I'd like to think that my condition has improved slightly since then. We'll see how things are in a few more weeks.

Seeing as how I was under the weather, I slept for most of the day while I left my mom and girlfriend to take care of the little guy. I was pleasantly surprised when she brought Bosco up to my room and threw him onto the bed, as he snuggled up onto my belly.

For most of the day he was quite a little sweetheart, probably because I didn't have to deal with most of his usual bitey-puppy bullshit. We managed to predict his potty schedule pretty accurately for the whole day with no accidents!

Back on the topic crate training and his sleeping habits-- we had a discussion last night about whether or not it was appropriate to lock him up in a crate through the night given his age and the fact that he's only been in the house for two weeks. I think we tentatively decided that we can let him out to sleep with us while somebody is on the couch with him for at least the first month before we start locking him up. I still think that we should put him in the crate every once in a while at least to get him used to the idea of being in there so that it won't be a huge shock to him the one night he does finally get put in there to go to bed.

Took me about 20 minutes of me keeping Bosco company outside his crate before he finally gave up his whimpering and gave me just enough time to take a shower and come back down to let him out. I can't wait till he gets past this phase and can chill in his crate on his own.
